Holiday Rentals in Vaucluse - A Guide to Vaucluse
The departement of Vaucluse is in the Region of Provence in France which sits down in the south eastern corner of this wonderful country. The River Rhone lies to the west while the river Durance lies to the south. A large part of the eastern half of Vaucluse is mountainous, dominated by “The Giant of Provence” Mont Ventoux. An impressive sight at nearly 2000m tall.
Vaucluse holiday rentals are popular due to the wonderful scenery of this hilly part of France. North of Marseille, the A7 motorway is am important artery for Vaucluse and one that many holiday makers frequent when travelling to and from their holiday rentals in Vaucluse.
The A8 motorway runs east to west at the bottom of Vaucluse so a driving holiday to or From Nice to the east or Nimes and Montpellier to the west is not that tiring.
Types of Holiday Rentals in Vaucluse
The type of Holiday rentals in Vaucluse is by and large what you would expect from a typical image of the south of France that most people have in their minds. That is to say pretty stone buildings with wooden beams, olive trees, Cyprus trees and vineyards close by.
Vaucluse has something for every size of group, whether you’re looking for something for two people or a luxury six bedroom house that sleeps twelve people. I saw a beautiful provencal Bastide (Handsome square shaped double fronted period property) not that long ago that slept 15 people. It was a huge great 320 sqm house with 4 bathrooms and wonderful grounds spanning 60 acres with the all important swimming pool.
You could really lose yourself in this type of Vaucluse holiday rental. Get away from it all and switch off and yet it was within a stone’s throw of the local village and town. Don’t expect this type of property to come cheap though. Peak season will see rental prices quoted in thousands of euros rather than hundreds.
At the other end of the scale I’ve also seen a very pretty 2 bed, 1 bath country house that sleeps 5 people. This house also had a wonderful garden. Not 60 acres but still a wonderful garden and of course, the all important swimming pool.
So whatever size house you might need, holiday rentals in Vaucluse will most certainly give you a real taste of what living in the south of France is all about.
