Apparently she travelled to the area with many other disciples, including Saint Maximin, and having converted many locals retired to a cave in the Sainte Baume Mountains. Her remains are said to be buried in a sarcophagus within the Basilica, which is so dominant in the town centre. The front is unfinished but the side chapels are filled with works of art.
