When looking at houses to rent in Rhone I came across a lovely 7 bedroom house to rent in Arnas. The house sleeps up to 20 guests and has 5 bathrooms and 7 separate toilets! There is a large dining area and living area, whilst outside there is a private pool and tennis court. There is also a very pretty garden with a swing for the children.
A further search of Rhone houses to rent yielded a very charming apartment to rent in Lyon on the top of Fourviere hill. The house is situated in the old district of Lyon, and whilst some of it is used as B&B accommodation, there is a private self catering apartment which sleeps up to 6 people. This would provide a perfect base from which to explore Lyon and the surrounding area.

Other large cities in Rhone include Villeurbanne and Venissieux.
Lyon is famous for its food and was the birthplace of Nouvelle Cuisine. It is often referred to as the gastronomic capital of France, so a holiday rental in Rhone is a good idea if you like your food. It is known for its bouchons, a type of Lyon restaurant serving Lyonnaise delights. Bouchon means brush, and this refers to the brushes which were used to groom the horses of the visitors to the bouchons, which were originally taverns. There are around 20 official bouchons in Lyon, but many restaurants use the term even if they are not officially entitled to. All of these bouchons tend to serve dishes based on meat, with a lot of sausage, pork, salami and duck being used.
Lyon is also famous for its dramatic architecture. Whilst staying in your Rhone holiday rental, why not visit the Basilica in Fourvière near Lyon - a dramatic piece of religious architecture built in 1896 to honour Lyon’s patron saint the Virgin Mary. Also worth a visit is the Cathedrale Saint-Jean with its stunning stained glass windows and objets d’art.
