Holiday Rentals in Rhône-Alpes - A Guide to Rhône-Alpes
Holiday rentals in Rhône-Alpes are found throughout this region which is situated in the east of France, and borders Switzerland and Italy. If you are driving through France to get to your holiday rentals in Rhône-Alpes, you will be able to use France’s excellent road network to reach your destination. The E15 Euroroute which runs all the way from Scotland to Spain passes through the region, making it highly accessible.
The region of Rhône-Alpes is well served by international airports at Lyon and Grenoble, both offering flights from low cost airlines such as Easyjet from a choice of UK airports, and meaning that Rhône-Alpes holiday rentals are now considerably easier and cheaper to reach. The region is also served by the TGV rail network which runs from Paris to Lyon in only two hours, and onwards to the Mediterranean.
Sports enthusiasts will enjoy the choice of golf courses, outdoor and water sports and of course skiing, whilst the arts and culture and stunning landscapes mean that there is sure to be something for everyone in Rhône-Alpes. If sports are not for you, why not visit the Basilica in Fourvière near Lyon - a dramatic piece of religious architecture built in 1896 to honour Lyon’s patron saint the Virgin Mary. Enjoy the delights of the Crest Jazz Festival held in August each year or explore the prehistoric caves of Ardèche.
Types of Holiday Rentals in Rhône-Alpes
The region is best known for its skiing, and offers some of the best ski resorts in France. The largest demand for property to rent in Rhône-Alpes is for one or two bedroom apartments, sleeping up to four people, which are ideal for the ski season.
There are also many beautiful private chalets to rent in Rhône-Alpes and villas to rent in Rhône-Alpes which are perfect for family holidays. One of the most stunning properties I came across was an impressive chateau to rent in the Loire region, which has six bedrooms and three bathrooms, accommodating up to 12 people.
Set in 20 acres of woodland, the chateau has its own private heated pool, barbeque and gardens. Whilst equipped with all the necessary modern conveniences such as dishwasher, laundry facilities, DVD, satellite television and WiFi internet access, the property retains original décor including mosaic flooring, antique fireplaces and marble walls.
This property is one of many magnificent Rhône-Alpes holiday rentals and it’s hard to imagine a more perfect setting for a relaxing family holiday.
