Holiday Rentals in Pyrenees-Orientales - A Guide to Pyrenees-Orientales
Holiday rentals in Pyrenees-Orientales are a great choice for several reasons. Particularly if you’re looking to buy a France holiday rental as you can benefit from both the summer season and the winter season.
The department of Pyrenees-Orientales can be found in the Languedoc region of the south of France and is well served by low cost flights from the UK to its airport at Perpignan. Although in a different department, Carcassonne airport can also be used as a springboard to your holiday rentals in Pyrenees-Orientales.
Types of Holiday Rentals in Pyrenees-Orientales
The good thing about Pyrenees-Orientales holiday rentals is that you’ve got it all. By that I mean that you can choose holiday rentals in Font Romeu or holiday rentals in Les Angles, both great family ski resorts in the Pyrenees-Orientales. Here you can get some great skiing at a fraction of the price of the fashionable resorts in the Alpes.
Sure you don’t get quite the same level of “Smartness” that you get if you’re staying in a holiday rental in Chamonix for example, but if you’re after a cheap and cheerful way onto the snow then Pyrenees-Orientales holiday rentals are not to be overlooked.
My wife and I spent a fabulous 24 hours in Font Romeu last year, had great weather, loads of sun and more importantly, loads of snow. Cost? Not that much.
But holiday rentals in Pyrenees-Orientales are not just all about snow. You may choose to try a holiday rental in Perpignan, a wonderful city, holiday rentals in Narbonne, another great city with a canal running through it, or holiday rentals in Collioure, a beautiful old town lying around a bay on the Mediterranean coast filled with old stone houses and pretty restaurants.
Be warned though. Collioure is very well known, very pretty and very popular, so unsurprisingly, Collioure holiday rentals can be pretty pricey and will very often get booked up a whole year in advance.
Another thing to note when considering holiday rentals in Pyrenees-Orientales is the proximity to Spain. Did you know that Girona airport is just over the Spanish border? Did you also know that Girona airport is a major hub for Ryanair? This means that if you fly into Girona for your Pyrenees-Orientales holiday rentals you have a relatively short drive ahead of you when you land and your choice of departure airports is much greater than if you’re flying into Perpignan.
And to finish off, there are some really nice beach destinations to choose from in the Pyrenees-Orientales. Places like Narbonne Plage, Canet Plage or Saint-Cyprien Plage are all on the Mediterranean coast and great places to enjoy a Mediterranean summer break full of sun, sand, sea and BBQ’s.
Pyrenees-Orientales Useful Information
So to sum up, holiday rentals in Pyrenees-Orientales give you the opportunity of experiencing both the sun and the snow and for that reason are highly recommended.
Whether you feel like exploring a wonderful city like Perpignan, a pretty medieval port such as Collioure or zipping down a red run in Font Romeu, Pyrenees-Orientales holiday rentals have a lot to offer.
