While researching this website I saw a beautiful villa in La-Croix-Valmer just across from St Tropez and only a short drive through vineyards to the beach. This was a detached villa ideal for a family with four bedrooms sleeping a maximum of eight people. The house had four bathrooms, dining room with seating for 12 people as well as a living room with fireplace.
The house was furnished with TV, DVD, CD player and video recorder. Outside it had a terrace with barbecue, lawned garden and private 10 metre swimming pool.

The region of Provence is actually called “Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azur” It’s capital is the city of Marseille, France’s second largest city after Paris with a population of just under a million. Other main cities in Provence are Nice, Toulon and Aix-en-Provence.
Undoubtedly one of the best known and most popular regions of France, the region of Provence is made up of six “Departements”, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Alpes-Maritimes, Bouches-du-Rhône, Hautes-Alpes, Var and Vaucluse.
It is then split into 18 “Arrondisements”, 237 “Cantons” and 963 “Communes”.
It’s a fairly large region so your choice of Provence holiday rentals will cover nearly 32,000 kilometres so whether you’re looking for a Provence holiday rental on the Mediterranean coast or a Provence holiday rental in the hills with a sea view, this wonderful part of France has something for everyone.
Friends of mine rented a wonderful villa in Provence in the hills behind Nice once. What a spot that was. Isolated and yet within easy reach of the local town and about a half hour drive to the sea. Peaceful, pretty, hot, sunny and with a private swimming pool. Not at all bad.
