Your holiday rental in the 11th Arrondissement of Paris will be situated on the eastern side of central Paris, adjacent to the very heart of the city.
The most hassle free way to get to your property rental in the 11th Arrondissement of Paris would be by train. The Eurostar goes directly from London to Paris Gare du Nord, which is just to the north west of the 11th Arrondissement, then you can take the Paris Metro (underground train) to any of nearly 20 Metro stations nearest your destination.
Alternatively, you could take your own car to your 11th Arrondissement of Paris property rental. It’s a 2 and a half hour drive to the 11th Arrondissement from Calais, or a bit less from Le Havre (but the Portsmouth to Le Havre ferry journey is around 5 hours). Of course it’s worth taking note that you’ll have to pay for parking in Paris if you take your own vehicle.
Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, which is on the north side of Paris, would be the destination of choice if you decide to fly. From there, you can use the Metro as mentioned before to your 11th Arrondissement of Paris holiday rental. Types of holiday rentals in the 11th Arrondissement of Paris
Since the 11th Arrondissement is near the centre of the city, you won’t be surprised to find out that you can only really rent an apartment in the 11th Arrondissement of Paris. I have found a couple of houses to rent, but they are in the minority. The apartments are mostly 1 or 2 bedroomed, but there are a few available with 3 or 4 bedrooms, at a price.
I have found a very reasonably priced 1 bedroom recently built apartment to rent in Bastille Marais. It’s in a very lively area full of bars, restaurants etc, but the apartment is very quiet, with a large bedroom and modern décor. It’s perfectly possible to have 4 adults stay here, keeping the cost down, and the only drawback is that there is no lift to the 3rd floor location.
Alternatively, and still affordable, is a lovely modern 1 bedroom apartment to rent in Saint Ambroise, in the east of the Arrondissement. It’s located near the famous Pere Lachaise Cemetery (where Jim Morrison and Oscar Wilde are resting). It is an incredibly spacious apartment with really high ceilings and fabulous modern décor throughout. It also has an elevator to get you to the 6th floor.
Paris 11th Arrondissement Useful Information
The 11th Arrondissement is only 3.67 square kilometres, with a population of around 150,000 people. It is in fact, the most densely populated urban district in the whole of Europe.
Your 11th Arrondissement of Paris holiday rental will be close to the Musée Edith Piaf and Musée du Fumeur and is also home to the Cirque d’Hiver, which often presents concerts, exhibitions, fashion shows and circuses. The area around the Place de la Bastille is full of fashionable restaurants and cafes, and a great many galleries and boutiques.
If you’d like your holiday rental in the 11th arrondissement of Paris to be in a quieter location, stay to the east of the area, but wherever you choose to stay, you’ll be within easy reach of a Metro station or bus to take you on the short trip to the city centre.
