1st arrondissement of Paris - "Louvre"
As you can probably guess, your holiday rental in the 1st Arrondissement of Paris will be right in the centre of the city.
If you are intending to stay in Paris for the whole of your holiday, then I’d suggest the best way to get there is by Eurostar to Gare du Nord, then catch the Metro (Paris Underground train) to your destination. There are no less than 8 stations within the 1st Arrondissement of Paris, so you’ll not have to walk far.
You could of course drive instead to your 1st Arrondissement of Paris holiday rental, the journey to the city centre taking around 2 and a half hours from Calais, or slightly less from Le Havre (though the ferry crossing is 5 hours instead of 1 hour), but bear in mind you’ll have to pay London parking prices once you get there.
The other alternative is to fly to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, which is outside of Paris on the north side. From there, you can catch the Metro as described above to your 1st Arrondissement of Paris property rental. I’d only suggest hiring a car if you intend to travel outside of Paris. Read our car hire guide page to see how to get the best deals on car hire in France.
Types of holiday rentals in the 1st arrondissement of Paris
All of the property rentals in the 1st Arrondissement of Paris that I have found are apartments. They range in price from around £400 to £4000 per week, dependant on size, style, location, time of year and accessibility.
A good example of an apartment to rent in the 1st Arrondissement of Paris at the more affordable end of the market, is one with 1 bedroom (which can sleep 4 people). It’s tastefully furnished in a Parisian style and has plenty of space for a couple or small family and, like all properties in this area, is within easy walking distance of all that the 1st Arrondissement of Paris has to offer (see below).
If you have a large family or just fancy living it up, how about a luxury apartment near the Louvre? I found one that has 3 bedrooms and is enormous, complete with swimming pool, and is decorated in a really modern style. It is situated directly on the gardens of the Palais Royal and is in fact, situated on the 4th and 5th floors of part of the original Palais Royal itself, so is in a truly perfect location. It even has it’s own terrace.
Paris 1st arrondissement Useful Information
The 1st Arrondissement of Paris covers an area of just 1.83 square kilometres and has a population of around 18000 people.
Your property rental in the 1st Arrondissement of Paris will place you right next to 4 museums, being the Musée du Barreau de Paris, Musée Grévin, Musée des Lunettes et Lorgnettes Pierre Marly and the Musée de la Publicité. Perhaps more famously than these, are the Arc de triomphe du Carrousel and the Louvre. The Avenue des Champs-Elysées is at the western edge of the Arrondissement, and the River Seine runs through it. Also, part of the Ile de la Cité is in this Arrondissement, which is famous for housing the Notre Dame Catherdral.
All in all, if you are looking for a truly central place to stay in Paris, a holiday rental in the 1st Arrondissement of Paris will see you well.
