Orange is located within the departement of Vaucluse in the southeast of France. It is about 20km north of Avignon and can easily be reached from the UK by road, rail and air.
Avignon and Nimes are the nearest airports with direct flights, but the airport depends on where you live in the UK. Alternately there are main roads and major rail links from Paris.

There aren’t many properties to rent in Orange, because although it is a tourist destination because of its Roman heritage, it is quite a large bustling town. However there is a beautiful house to rent in Orange, just 3km from the centre. This farmhouse sleeps up to 6 people, has beautiful grounds and a pool and is tastefully decorated – perfect for a family.

Orange Useful Information
Orange holiday rentals are definitely one to put on your list of places of visit. The town is renowned for its Roman architecture including its Roman theatre (built in the 1st Century, AD) and triumphant arch. Recently restored, the theatre is now home to an international Opera festival.
There is also a museum displaying amongst other things, the biggest Roman maps etched in marble, ever recovered.
There are some nice streets, cafés and shops, but Orange isn’t particularly picturesque. There is however a large park area across the hilltop, with botanical walks, play area and lovely views.
