Holiday Rentals in Languedoc - A Guide to Languedoc
Holiday rentals in Languedoc are certainly one of the most popular in France. A large part of the Languedoc holiday rentals popularity is certainly the position of the Languedoc region within France.
Lying on the Mediterranean coast at the bottom of France between Spain and the Cote d’Azur, the Languedoc region is very easy to get to indeed. Ever growing coverage by low cost airlines such as Ryanair, Flybe and easyJet means that flying to the Languedoc has never been easier.
If you take a geographical midpoint such as the medieval town of Pezenas (holiday rentals in Pezenas are a real favourite with holiday makers) and factor in a 2 hour drive on fabulous French motorways, then you have a staggering 7 airports to choose from.
Add to this the superb road network that lets you drive from Calais to the Languedoc in under ten hours, ever increasing speeds of railways and you will see that getting to this part of France to enjoy your holiday rentals in Languedoc really is simplicity itself.
Types of Holiday Rentals in Languedoc
The type of Languedoc holiday rentals you will find will largely depend on where you want to be based. You can choose from holiday rentals in Montpellier, the Languedoc’s capital city, which will give you all the trappings of a bustling French city. Here your Montpellier holiday rentals will most likely be an apartment in the centre of town. A great way to see the sights.
As a very different approach you might prefer holiday rentals in Cap d’Agde, a beach resort built around a large marina teeming with boats. Here you will find plenty of holiday apartments in modern complexes with swimming pools only a short stroll from 14 kms of glorious sandy beaches. As a child I spent many fantastic summer holidays here and can strongly recommend the wonderful beaches.
If you’d rather be away from the crowds then perhaps a secluded villa with private swimming pool sounds more appealing? You will find plenty of typical French villages surrounding towns such as Pezenas, Beziers or Narbonne with a good selection of 3-5 bedroom detached villas, usually with large gardens and private swimming pools. This can be a really good way to spend a family holiday in this part of France. Lazing by the pool of your Languedoc holiday villa with some good local produce on the BBQ and the kids splashing around in the swimming pool.
If you are thinking of renting a villa in the Languedoc then do be warned. It is a popular area and places are very often booked up a full year in advance.
Languedoc Useful Information
The Languedoc region is divided up into five departments, each one of which has a fantastic choice of holiday rentals.
You can choose from; Holiday rentals in Aude, Holiday rentals in Gard, Holiday rentals in Hérault, Holiday rentals in Lozère and Holiday rentals in Pyrénées-Orientales. If you choose Pyrénées-Orientales holiday rentals then you have the choice of the sea and the snow!!!
From personal experience I can highly recommend Languedoc holiday rentals and in particular holiday rentals in Pezenas and holiday rentals in Pyrénées-Orientales in places such as Font Romeu or Les Angles.
All in all, choosing a holiday rental in the Languedoc gives you great flexibility, very easy access and some of the best weather in France. A+
