Holiday Rentals in Herault - A Guide to Herault
The department of Herault is one of the departments of the Languedoc region and as such, holiday rentals in Herault and in particular, villas to rent in Herault are very well known and very popular.
Sitting pretty well in the middle of the Languedoc, the department of Herault is very well catered for when it comes to transport links, particularly air travel. I think that this is one reason that holiday rentals in Herault are so popular. If you take say, holiday rentals in Pezenas, a charming medieval town between Montpellier holiday rentals and Beziers holiday rentals, then within a 2 hour drive you have the choice of seven international airports.
Types of Holiday Rentals in Herault
Holiday rentals in Herault can more or less be divided into four categories. Villas to rent in Herault, village house to rent in Herault, beach rentals in Herault and city rentals in Herault.
One of the most popular types of Herault holiday rentals are detached villas in pretty villages on the outskirts of a town. These villas to rent in Herault will usually sleep 6 – 10 people, be between 130 and 170 sqm and often come with a swimming pool. A very nice way to spend a week or two with family or friends.
If your party is smaller or you can’t stretch to a villa, then a village house to rent in Herault can also be a lot of fun and a great way to experience the real south of France.
Village houses to rent in Herault will typically be 2 – 4 bedrooms, probably over 3 floors and if you’re lucky, with a roof terrace. Village houses to rent in Herault with gardens are quite hard to find so if you do find one it will come at a premium.
If you’re looking for something with more hustle and bustle then you could consider either an apartment to rent in Montpellier, the capital city of the Languedoc or a beach apartment to rent somewhere like Cap d’Agde or Valras Plage. This type of beachside location is great for a 2 week stay in the summer months but be warned. Many of these beachside locations shut right down out of season so if you want to take your holiday in October or March you may well find that holiday rentals in Cap d’Agde resemble a ghost town.
If a beachside holiday rental is what you fancy then take a tip from me. If you’ve got the choice between a holiday rental in Valras Plage with a covered terrace or a holiday rental in Cap d’Agde with an open terrace, go for the covered terrace every time. I know it sounds crazy but the summer months can get very very hot in this part of France and after a few days you’ll be glad you’ve got a covered terrace on which to eat lunch. Otherwise you’ll invariably be eating lunch indoors!
