Holiday Rentals in Hauts-de-Seine - A Guide to Hauts-de-Seine
If you have arrived at this page, you’ll probably already know that your holiday rental in Hauts-de-Seine is in a departement immediately to the west of central Paris. It forms part of the Ile-de-France region and in fact contains part of the western suburbia of Paris, where the departements of Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marme complete the circle around central Paris, known as the petite couronne.
Given the departement’s proximity to central Paris, it is ever so easy to reach your Hauts-de-Seine holiday rental by plane or train, though Orly airport, being only 25 kilometres south of Paris, is actually nearer to Hauts-de-Seine than Charles-de-Gaulle, which is 35 kilometres to the north east of Paris. There is a great public transport network in and around Paris and the departement is serviced by the Paris Metro (underground), so you don’t necessarily have to hire a car when you get there.
Your holiday rental in Hauts-de-Seine will be situated in France’s second most wealthy departement after Paris and is in fact one of the most wealthy areas in the whole of Europe.
Types of Holiday Rentals in Hauts-de-Seine
There are mostly apartments to rent in Hauts-de-Seine, given the built up nature of the departement, though there are also a few houses to rent in Hauts-de-Seine. You’ll not find any country villas or chateaux this near to the centre of Paris, for obvious reasons.
I found a rather interesting house for rent in Colombes, which is 15 minutes north east of Paris centre. It’s a very modern looking 5 bedroomed property with two bathrooms and will sleep up to nine people. It has a very large living area, plenty of outdoor space and well decorated bedrooms. Whilst appearing reasonably expensive, spread amongst six or more people, it works out to be great value for money, especially being so close to Paris.
If you’re looking for something much smaller for your holiday rental in Hauts-de-Seine, amongst all the hustle and bustle, there’s a charming apartment for rent in Suresnes, just to the west of Paris, only 18 minutes travel by train. It has one bedroom, but benefits from air conditioning and a lovely private roof terrace, and is situated next to the river Seine and the woods of Bois de Boulogne.
Hauts-de-Seine Useful Information
Hauts-de-Seine’s prefecture is Nanterre, and the departement is divided into 3 Arrondissements, 45 Cantons and 36 Communes. It is a densely populated departement, with over 1.5 million inhabitants, in an area of only 176 square kilometres.
The climate in the departement is not dissimilar to that of London, though is usually two or three degrees warmer all year round, and it does have it’s fair share of rain. However, you’ll not be looking to travel here for the weather, but more for the sights and sounds of Paris and the surrounding areas.
If you are looking for a classy, busy, city based place to stay, a holiday rental in Hauts-de-Seine will not disappoint. You’ll be placed within easy reach of one of Europe’s most romantic and beautiful cities, but a Hauts-de-Seine holiday rental will provide you with a more diverse and unusual get-away than staying in the centre of Paris.
