Holiday Rentals in Hautes-Pyrénées - A Guide to Hautes-Pyrénées

The department of Hautes-Pyrénées is part of the larger region of Midi- Pyrénées. Holiday rentals in Hautes-Pyrénées are located in one of the most southerly areas of France, very close to the border with Spain and at the foothills of the superb Pyrénées mountain range.

The E80 motorway is the main route through the department, but being so far down France the best choice of travel would probably be a flight to Lourdes Airport. Direct flights to your Hautes-Pyrénées holiday rentals are available from the UK with Ryanair who regularly fly out of London Stanstead.

The airport is situated half-way between Tarbes and Lourdes on National Highway 21, just follow the ‘aircraft’ sign to “Ossun”. Alternatively the TGV from Paris serves Tarbes and Lourdes four times a day and would take around 6 hours to reach Hautes-Pyrénées holiday rentals.

You could drive all the way of course but expect the journey to take 10 hours or so. If you are going to drive in winter season you will be very wise to pack your snow chains if attempting to reach the ski resorts.

The second favourite accommodation style is houses to rent in Hautes-Pyrénées, closely followed by chalets to rent in Hautes-Pyrénées and then a few farmhouse/cottage properties to rent in Hautes-Pyrénées.

The main activity catered for is obviously skiing but there are also quite a few properties that cater for the golfers amongst you.

If for example we take a typical property based in the historic town of Cauterets, at the foothills of the Pyrénées. Here you have three very well decorated bedrooms which will sleep up to 6 people, one bathroom with separate toilet, a good sized living room and kitchen and best of all, a balcony with fantastic views out onto the Pyrénées mountain range.

Not only do you get the benefit of the snow in this department, Hautes-Pyrénées holiday rentals also make a good choice to enjoy the summer sunshine with plenty do should skiing not be your thing.
