The Giens peninsula is a former island and is hilly. It is connected to the mainland by a 6km long sandy bank, forming 2 stunning beaches. The beautiful islands of Porquerolles, Port-Cros and Le Levant are just off the Giens peninsula and a ferry gives access in less than 15 minutes. Port Cros is a natural reserve due to its vegetation and amazing seabed.
You can rent speed boats or sailing boats at Hyeres harbour, and there are some fabulous walks along the coast or around the Provencal countryside.
