Holiday Rentals in Caux - A Guide to Caux
Holiday rentals in Caux are a popular choice for those people looking to holiday in and around the Pezenas area. If you’re reading this page make sure you also read our separate article on holiday rentals in Pezenas.
The village of Caux is located in the Herault department (we also have a page on Herault holiday rentals) of the Languedoc in southern France.
Caux is well situated only about 5 mins drive from the town of Pezenas and is therefore ideally placed to enjoy typical Mediteranean village life while not feeling like you’re cut off from the world.
If you're flying to France then make sure you read our top tip for getting the cheapest car hire in Caux.

Types of Holiday Rentals in Caux
Holiday rentals in Caux can more or less be broken down into two types. Village houses to rent in Caux and villas to rent in Caux.
The choice here is largely driven by budget and practicality.
Village houses to rent in Caux are typically laid out over 2-3 floors, are old character properties that mostly have narrow staircases and a roof terrace if you’re lucky. This type of Caux holiday rentals are not ideal if you have small children but can be very nice if you have a roof terrace on which to enjoy the summer sun.
If you’re holidaying with your family then a villa to rent in Caux is going to be a better option. A detached villa with swimming pool to rent in Caux is a great place to enjoy your summer holiday and this type of Caux holiday rentals are certainly very popular in the high season.
With this in mind, if a villa to rent in Caux sounds like your cup of tea make sure you book early.
A lot of holiday rentals in Caux will get booked up a whole year in advance.
One such Caux villa to rent is owned by friends of mine.
It’s on the edge of the village but not at all isolated and is a real “Oasis” with three bedrooms and a beautiful landscaped garden, not to mention the swimming pool and “Al fresco” dining area. A++
Caux Useful Information
Caux is a slightly larger than average village with 2 bars (I’m pretty sure one does snacks) and a small selection of village shops. It’s only about 30 mins drive from the beach and is certainly one of my favourite villages in the Hearult. I can thoughourly recommend holiday rentals in Caux.
