There are a couple of cottages to rent in Castillonnes too, in fact both properties I found share a very large plot of land with a lovely pool too.
Interiors of the cottages are beautifully maintained and have lovely period wooden beams throughout (buildings are from the 18th Century).

You’ll find your Castillonnes holiday rentals are half way between Bordeaux and Toulouse, just to the south of Bergerac.
Castillonnes itself dates right back to the 13th Century. There is a weekly market in the Place des Cornieres in the centre of town and there are plenty of very old buildings still left standing, including part of the 16th Century ramparts, though it won’t take you long to look around as the town itself is still pretty small and compact.
