Holiday Rentals in Bordeaux - A Guide to Bordeaux
Holiday rentals in Bordeaux are located in the south west of France, in the department of Gironde, in the Aquitaine region.
If you are going to be staying in Bordeaux holiday rentals then you are lucky enough to have an international airport on your doorstep.
Whilst this makes it very convenient to get to your property, I would still recommend hiring a car for the rest of your holiday, but perhaps not from the airport – rates can be a fair bit cheaper at other locations.

Alternatively, you could drive down to Bordeaux from Calais which takes around 8 hours or Saint Malo (6 hours) bearing in mind the crossing to St Malo takes several hours.
Types of Holiday Rentals in Bordeaux
There are plenty of properties to rent in Bordeaux, most of which are apartments, though I did find a good selection of houses to rent in Bordeaux too.
Of those that I looked at, around a third had air conditioning and around a quarter had a swimming pool. Prices vary greatly, depending on the size and location.
Having researched apartments to rent in Bordeaux, they tend to be all situated in the built up areas, not surprisingly.
There is a large variety of quality in the rentals and prices reflect this. Some of the apartments I have found are superb and in excellent locations for exploring the city; others are more functional, but are then much more affordable.
Bordeaux Useful Information
You’ll find your Bordeaux holiday rentals are situated in a large city (6th largest in France). It is considered to be the world’s wine Capital and the historic part of the city is on the World Heritage List.
Holiday rentals in Bordeaux are far enough south that the weather generally doesn’t get very cold.
The city itself has a lot to offer by way of historic sites including a huge 18th century urban area, and you’ll find a vast array of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants to keep you busy for a good while.
If you feel like exploring further afield, there is an endless supply of towns, villages and vineyards in the region, not to mention coastal resorts. (see our ‘Holiday Rentals in Arachon’ page for further information).
