Loir-et-Cher Chateau de Blois
Following on from my article on the holiday rentals in Loir-et-Cher department of France. I did mention the numerous Chateaux in the area, one of which really stood out for me - The Royal Chateau de Blois. The residence of several French Kings, it is also the place where Joan of Arc went in 1429 to be blessed by the Archbishop of Reims before departing with her army to drive the English from Orleans.
As you can see from the picture the Chateau's most renowned feature is the spiral staircase in the Francois I wing. Well worth a visit from your holiday rentals in Loir-et-Cher.
